Youth at Risk is a program involving society in the support of young people at risk. Businesses, municipalities, and civil society collaborate, to enable a new direction in life.
How does Youth at Risk work?
Youth at Risk is led by experienced and well-trained leaders. Businesses and municipalities engage local volunteers, who can earn trust and support the young.
A program is offered to young people, who express hopelessness and exclusion through conflicts, destructive behavior, low school attendance, drug usage, and criminal behavior.
All participants and the YaR initiators agree on responsibility for communication and actions.
The volunteers are prepared and trained to support the young in their challenges. The young see their role in the direction of their lives and identify what they want to change. The process enables the young to start respecting themselves and to see themselves as contributors.
Safe environment for young people
Youth at Risk provides a safe environment where the young people will reflect about who they have become, and who they powerfully are choosing to be. The program changes the destination for young people, transforms their point of view, and even gives a new meaning to the lives of the volunteers.
